From May 28-30, 2021, Germany’s third Local Conference of the Youth (LCOY) took place, LCOY online 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was once again held in digital form with the theme “National Climate Protection”.

The overarching theme for this year's Local Conference of Youth was ‘Youth Action for Restoration Solutions’ including both the subject of ‘Youth’ and ‘Environment restoration’ and how the two can come together to combat climate change and revive the environment.

LCOYKe 2021 took place in the city of Nairobi, Kenya’s capital. Kenya is located within Eastern Africa, which experiences a largely tropical climate, although high elevations scattered across the region tend to lower average temperatures within those localities.

LCOY Nepal 2021, organized by CliMates Nepal in collaboration with the Youth Thinkers Society and Nepalese Youth for Climate Action, took place for two days via the online Zoom platform. The primary target of the LCOY Nepal was to empower the youth and help them identify and solve their local issues affected by climate change.
